SEO Resources – More SEO Links
For a long time now it has generally been agreed upon that link share is an essential ingredient in the recipe for search engine rankings. It is commonly accepted that PR, the ubiquitous indicator of worth bequeathed by the mighty Google, and nemesis of webmasters, is directly related to link share. The more sites that link back to you the better – maybe. Numbers of course are not the whole story. Ah, then it must be the quality only of those links that determine Page Rank – maybe. Certain links you can assuredly count on to pass value back to your site, such as a link from a .gov or a .edu site. Other links from sites once deemed as quality may no longer be seen as valuable by Google and so no longer contribute to the calculation of PR. This can happen for a number of reasons. Perhaps the site has changed hands and is used for nothing more than Adsense these days. Perhaps Google tweaked one of its link share algorithms last Thursday. Perhaps Martha went down to the internet office and complained so loudly about a site that it is now blacklisted as spam. The following links will hopefully take you to resources that prove useful and are still on Marthas good sites list.
Remember that just for the fun of it, I decided to use the first 55 characters (or less if the total is under 55) of the title of each website (the number of characters that Google apparently recognizes or gives value to for the anchor text of links). If some of these links dont seem to make sense that is why.
